Erratics winning brand of 'sensible T20 cricket'

24 Jun 2016

The Erratics finally ended a June drought with a win against Newton St Cyres in the Cheriton Fitzpaine Big Bash. The victory was characterised by our very own brand of 'sensible T20 cricket' - eschewing the 'swing for the fences' approach generally favored in this format we tapped and nurdled our way to a modest and respectful 110, followed up by some old fashioned consistent line and length bowling, which was sufficient to secure a 34 run win. It may not be what the crowds flock to the CP 'Big Bash' for (it was suggested it might be rebranded the 'Gentle Nudge' when we play) but our low-scoring, play-to-our-strengths approach has now won us 3 out of 4 games in the tournament and secured a place at Finals Day.
