Erratics Cricket Club Lost by 10 wickets
Match report
Match Report by Simon Orpen:
A welcome return for this fixture against the welcoming hosts of the Crediton Inn. The match was played at Newton St Cyres on a fine summer's evening. Guy Clarke and Ed Keedwell opened the Erratics innings and got off to a solid start before Ed was run out trying to up the scoring rate. Greg Richmond came in at three and once again proved what a fine cricketer he is scoring a fine 36 ably supported by Jonathan Kirby with 19*. The Crediton inn bowling was accurate throughout and the fielding athletic with the result that our runs per over were becoming rather under par. The last five batsmen all perished in the search for quick runs to up the tempo but it was not to be.
102 was never going to be a defendable score on the artificial wicket at Newton St Cyres and so it proved. I won't go into too much detail ( I can't as it's not in the scorebook!) but suffice to say Crediton Inn didn't lose any wickets! Handshakes all round and back to Crediton for a visit to the team pub and an excellent and generous post match meal and drinks. Thanks once again to the Crediton Inn for their hospitality and we look forward to the return fixture in August.
