North Nibley v Erratics Cricket Club Erratics on Sat 02 Sep 2017 at 1.30pm
Erratics Cricket Club Won by 27 runs

Match report There was a certain symmetry between our two games at North Nibley on this tour (and no, I don't just mean because they were played at the same ground...), with the Erratics batting first and racking up an imposing total. This time it was 'Mr Martin Sir' from the 'Big 'ouse' who did the damage, batting with the assured authority of the patrician, an air that he carried all weekend as he lorded it over us campers with tales of his palatial suite. (In fairness, he took the resultant ribbing, and fines, with immaculate good grace). He was ably supported by Dunc, and another late flourish from Chris Cook, and once again we had runs to play with.

Once more though our opposition threatened, despite Captain Power bagging 3 more wickets to add to an impressive season's returns, and just like on Thursday it seemed as though the combination of a solid opener - Chaz - and a hard-hitter in the middle-order - Ed Lines, who famously put us to the sword in 2014 - might just overhaul us. But unlike on Thursday we got the crucial breakthrough in good time, when Chris took a stunning go-go-gadget-arm return catch of a ball hit as hard as they come by Ed Lines - yes, dear reader, Chris truly grabbed the 'eadlines...

After that it was too much to ask of NoNib, despite a spirited cameo from keeper-captain John, and victory was sealed with the final wicket falling in the final over the allotted 35 with our old friends 27 runs short. A team dinner at the Black Horse in North Nibley provided a fitting end - or so it turned out with Sunday's game rained off - to what had been a thoroughly enjoyable return to Cotswold Land.
