Tim Dilks profile

  • When I started playing for the Erratics in 1975, Bill Hanson was invariably captain, (Salacious rumours that he was John Lloyd’s love-child abounded.), and the bowler who opened at the unpopular end was usually Tim Dilks, who taught Biology and took his punishment like a man. He had a slightly unfinished look, as if he’d rushed to the ground before controlling his hair. That hair hung, as did Sir Andrew Aguecheek’s, ‘like flax on a distaff’. No one could ever accuse Tim of not trying. - Peter Thomson
