Scorecard

Harberton v Erratics Cricket Club Erratics on Sun 11 Aug 2013 at 2:30pm
Erratics Cricket Club Won by 7 wickets

Match report Harberton won the toss and batted first on a spirited bouncy wicket.

Against tight bowling and mostly un-erratic fielding, Harberton nudged and nurdled their way to 123 for 8 in the set 40 overs. Mark Hailwood tantalised the batsmen, finishing with a PB return of 8 overs, 6 maidens, 1 for 2. Matt Cook ended as the leading wicket taker with 3 for 36 off his 8 overs, whilst Chris Ferro was as sharp and exacting as ever with 2 for 18 off 8, and Ben Abrahams also impressed with 8 overs of accurate off spin taking 1 for 28.

Jan Heaton opened the Erratics innings batting with Jonathan Kirby - the pair patiently seeing out the first 9 overs. Kirby then hit 14 off the 10th over to bring the Erratics back up with the run rate. The following over though saw Heaton stumped for 10. With Kirby out in the next over for 24, Matt Cook joined Chris Ferro with the score on 39 for 2 after 11 overs.

Cook and Ferro were un-surprisingly un-phased by the pitch and built a partnership of 81 for the 3rd wicket in 12 overs. Whilst Ferro steadily accreted 28 not out, Cook dallied with the bowlers for a couple of overs before embarking on a torrid triangular affair between bat, ball and boundary, smashing 9 fours and a six before being caught behind for 54 off 36 balls with the scores tied at 122.

The winning run from Ferro came with 7 Erratics wickets and 15 overs to spare.
