All Saints v Erratics Cricket Club Erratics on Sun 26 Aug 2007 at 2.00pm
Erratics Cricket Club Won by 22 runs

Match report by Shane Ellis

Possibly the least informative and wildly inaccurate match report in the club's fine history reads as follows; game against the gentlemanly and sporting club of All Saints was played in conditions typical of an English summer... i.e. hot and oppressive but with a zephyr of a breeze to cool the heated brows.

Matt Cook won? the toss and immediately showed his colours as a batsman by electing to bat!!! Everyone batted solidly on a fairly dead pitch and we finished with a score in the vicinity of 5/189 after the allotted forty overs which always looked a competitive score.

During the tea break Guy Clarke high on top scoring for the team (or something) insisted on showing all and sundry his hernia which i'm sure was a tactic designed to put everyone off their food and allow him first pickings at the arvo tea table!!!!

After tea yours truly dug out the openers with some brilliant swing bowling allowing our "spin-twin" dream pairing of Matt Cook and David Pearson to clean up the tail. Someone else may have taken a wicket or two and if they know who you are!!!

Martin Weiler helps a local with the scoring, while Andrew McRae, Shane Ellis, David Pearson, Emma and Matt Turner, and Guy Clarke (or is it Phil Ellis) show varying degrees of interest in the match at All Saints.
