At Chulmleigh we played our first game,
Though we had to fight on through some rain.
Their total was eighty,
Which wasn’t too weighty,
And victory we duly did claim.

If in Chulmleigh you purchase a curry,
Don’t leave the place in a hurry.
Check your receipt,
For mistake or deceit,
To save treasurers from later worry.

There’s a nice pub in nearby Molland,
Which may as well be far-off in Holland.
Whenever you go,
The owners don’t show,
And the long walk back home is quite solemn.

Games at Morebath are good fun,
Littered with many a run.
But when Mark P took the ball,
Their run chase did stall,
Then a Biblical downpour did come.

We’ve seen some great Erratics knocks,
Down in Valley of the Rocks.
A common mistake to commit,
Is to include 'the' in it,
Which I've just done, oh bollocks!

There was a tall batter called Rick,
Whose scoring rate was very quick.
He was close to a ton,
But couldn’t get it done,
When his last ball was not hit for six.

That night it became clear enough,
That making a limerick is tough.
And if you fail every time,
To make the thing rhyme,
You’ll send Duncan to bed in a huff.

On Sunday to Tedburn St Mary,
And a short boundary that was rather scary.
They hit it a lot,
We did not,
And the scores reflected this fairly.

That was the end of the tour,
With 3-1 the final score.
We went off to our beds,
With smelly kits and sore heads,
Thinking ‘Christ all that rhyming was poor!’
