Notable is a word which describes something remarkable or outstanding.


After the game against Head and Tails this year, I remember thinking, and discussing with others, probably over a refreshment at the Beer Engine, about how exciting and enjoyable a game it was.

Clearly it was memorable at the time, and I thought that I wouldn't need to take any notes as everything was so exciting and enjoyable. Captain hindsight tells me, 7 weeks after the fixture as I begin to right the match report (let alone publish it), that I should indeed have taken the notes, or alternatively produced the report much quicker, like some of the other Erratic goody two shoes. 


What I do remember was that the weather was good. Though it has been all summer (so far, now halfway through July). Not a great reporter comment.

I also remember that John Curtis was due to play, didn't show up, it later emerged that he removed his availability for another game but forgot this one existed. As a result we grateful to have Shawna of Stokeinteignhead to field and bowl an over for us.

Roger was captain - that stuck with me - though I didn't remember that he hit the winning runs, which is apparent as I look at the scorecard. 

It looks as though Ben Yarde Buller bowled particularly well, and I can now recall his grin after a high five between us for a wicket combination.

Sorry for those who contributed and deserve a specific mention. Well done to everyone.



We won with 2 balls to spare, and all of the top order retired on 30, except yours truly, so it was clearly a majestic, high scoring chase. One of those "all 3 outcomes, final over" types.


We then went to the pub, and had excellent food. Probably.
