August was, I'm afraid, a rather forgettable month. Due to a combination of rain and lack of players (sometimes on our part, sometimes on our opposition's) we managed to complete just three fixtures, and we didn't win any of them.

We did, however, retain the Chairman's Cup by drawing againt the Mystics at Lustleigh - which you can read about here - and you can get a flavour of how much of the month played out (or rather didn't) with these very short reports on abandoned games at Newton Pop and Clyst. When things did finally dry up we were rather rusty in a loss at Broadclyst, but had a nice day out at Mount Edgcumbe whilst Ben Stokes was performing miracles at Headingly which we couldn't quite match...
