Match report One of the most satisfying developments for 2008 has been our shared use of Dunsford's ground and it has been a pleasure to invite some of our long standing (and long suffering!) opponents to play an away game against the Erratics once again. Cheriton Fitzpaine are always one of our favourite teams and it seemed natural they would be one of the first sides to visit us.

Cheriton batted first and struggled against excellent bowling from James Burrows, Gareth Oughton, Duncan Chave and particularly Sam Cook. Without the Cheriton number three's half century the total of 123 would have looked very paltry but as it was this was a reasonable score on a damp pitch and outfield.

Brian Carpenter and Matt Cook opened the batting.
Perhaps it was an attempt to establish a Greenidge/Haynes style combination. In the event it was more Philo Wallace/ Clayton Lambert (remember them?!) and it was soon up to Tim Mileham to play one of his fine,aggressive middle order knocks.

Tim made his way to an undefeated 52 ably supported by Duncan Chave and Sam Cook.

Although wickets fell regularly we still had power in reserve and in the end victory was relatively comfortable.

After the game the teams trundled over to the Royal Oak and looked forward to the 2009 season over a pint or two.
