Match report On an overcast 24 June the Erratics played host to touring side Isis at Stokeinteignhead.

After establishing that this was not a Jihadist plot to infiltrate and try and make sense of the most quintessentially English of summer sports , but a team named after the beautiful stretch of the Thames running between Folly bridge and Iffley lock in Oxford , the Erratics skipper ,Duncan , began negotiating with his opposite number to see if we could add a couple more players to the rather 'thin on the ground' Erratics turn out. Having borrowed three and with a team now up to an acceptable ten , Tom and Fraser headed out to the middle.

Some tight bowling made the first few overs quite tricky. Tom was the first to go and although not adding to the total , his contribution of two excellent homemade cakes to the tea more than compensated. Fraser followed shortly , only to find himself back in the middle ' running ' for one of our requisitioned players who managed to injure himself with almost the first shot he played. Another good knock from Martin , well and truly back from his fallow year , and a partnership at the back of the innings between Duncan and Nigel saw the Erratics to 145 off 35.

With an air of cake induced lethargy descending over Stokeinteignhead after tea the defense of our total proved to be a difficult task. Even with Tom taking his first Erratic wicket , inevitably Isis cruised home for a comfortable win
