[Some] Match Reports

21 Jul 2023

It has been a while since the last report round-up, primarily because so few have been submitted (there is a run of six games in a row from early July with no reports). But the diligent few deserve to have their efforts promoted, so here goes...

Let Andrew Forrester take you back to early June, and a surprise battering at Marldon.
Mark Phillips tells the tale of his 200th Erratics appearance in a battling loss at Ide.
Oscar (and Steve) make a reporting debut on an impressive win away at Stoke Gabriel.
A very enjoyable North Devon Tour followed, where conventional reports were replaced by an 'Erratics Songbook'. Sing along as you read the scorecards for Chulmleigh, Morebath, Lynton, and Bridgetown.

Then our shameful run of unreported games, until...

Matt Cook returned from exile to report on a fun but fruitless visit to Spitchwick.
JK came over all reflective after another narrow loss to Heads and Tails.
And some bloke called Jon Beverley tells of a first - winning - outting for the new bucket hats against Wraith's Rovers.

Overall then June and July have seen a continuation of fluctuating fortunes, with a win usually following a loss and vice versa. We did slip into a recent four match losing run, but the bucket-hat win snapped that - could they be the catalyst for an improved run of form? Watch this space - or even better, get out there and play!
