Between the 9th June and 10th July the Erratics took the field 12 times. We won just 3 games, and lost 9. Not our finest run of form, though plenty of those games were quite close and/or fun.

I think I have the explanation. Across those 12 games only 2 match reports were returned. Yes t-w-o.

The ever dependable Martin Wright penned a nice account of what felt like an appropriate loss to our friends at Cheriton
The ever dependable Rick Lindsay dutifully completed his report on a bit of a drubbing by touring team Strongroom, despite being busy with selecting responsibilities.

It seems clear to me that the cricket gods have been punishing us for failing to uphold our club's long and proud literary traditions.

Further proof: the ever dependable Martin Weiler returned from holiday last week and was thrust straight into the reporting job. His report on a home game against the Sunsets was promptly returned. Lo and behold, our form has since seen an uptick, with 2 wins from 3, and the loss a last over one at the end of a sterling effort against a very strong Broadclyst. Has the page been turned on our midsummer slump? Only, I suspect, if those match reports keep coming...
