On a glorious spring evening , this 20 over fixture began with Newton Poppleford padding up and starting off proceedings out in the middle. Taking advantage of the much improved batting strip their openers began well and the score moved along rapidly . Haynes and Mollins , however, produced a spell of good , tight bowling which pegged their run rate back. The former at one point on a hat trick whilst the latter bowled with some genuine pace keeping his Dad on his toes behind the stumps. In the end Newton P. finished on a competitive 126 from their allotted overs.

MacQueen and Rutherford opened up the innings for the Erratics. Within a couple of overs ,Greg was back where he left off the previous Sunday against Marldon , giving a masterclass in hitting through a ball on a length with a straight bat and with perfect timing sent their best bowler flying back over his head with four of the sweetest sixes you could wish to see. With both openers making their 25 and Guy Clarke playing a neat innings for bid 16, the Erratics appeared to be on course for a win, however, a few quick wickets and slowing run rate meant that the winning score was always just out of reach and after an exciting final few overs the Erratics fell just short , finishing on 115.
