Match report And lo there was a break in the clouds! The Erratics took advantage of the monsoon's quick break for refuelling and headed to Newton Poppleford for an evening game played in excellent competitive spirits.

Newton pop were keen to beat us as I believe since this fixture was started (or resurrected) we have beaten them every time. Anyway, that was to change...

Now when I say there was a break in the clouds etc. please don't imagine a dapply sunkissed summer's eve. It wasn't. We did however get the full game in and that is something to be celebrated.

Erratics batted first and scored 73 mostly due to an excellent 32 not out from the soon to depart Matt Turner. The only other real support came from Chris Ferro with 13. I won't bother you with the other scores but will say everyone except Matt found it difficult to get the ball off the pitch. 73 was never likely to be enough...

... And so it proved, despite captain Jonathan Kirby urging positive thinking. Newton Poppleford easing home for the loss of four wickets. We bowled well enough but just didn't have enough runs. An enjoyable fixture nonetheless and our hosts invited us back to the pub with food laid on and the chance to enjoy their victory.
