Match report And so to Frocester which over the last few years has been the scene of one glorious Erratics victory and several less than glorious defeats! Frocester have a wonderful ground and the square itself is one of the best we get to play on. they also have strength in depth as far as players go as we tend to find out when one of their very young colts comes out to bat and knocks us all around the park!

The good news this year was that the electronic scoreboard was fully functional. This is the one game of the year where we have no trouble finding someone to perform the scorer's duties-in fact there is often a scrum just to get to the control panel!

We batted first with Paul Molins and Matt Turner performing opener's duties. Paul played his usual attacking shots on his way to 17 against tight opening bowling and was soon joined by Chris Ferro. Chris was on excellent form once again and held the innings together. He had useful assistance from Chris Cook (14) Jonathan Kirby (17) and Oliver Kirby (11) but without his 97 not out we would have scored nowhere near the 185 for 7 that we achieved.

Frocester seemed confident as they went out to bat and it was with good reason. Despite some excellent bowling from James burrows and Chris Cook we never really stood a chance. Frocester eased to victory for the loss of four wickets after only 28 overs with their number 5 bat unfortunately stranded on 99 not out.

After drinks in the Frocester pavilion we headed to the George just down the road and were well fed by the friendly landlady despite the fact they were busy before we turned up. James did the job of head waiter superbly and the evening disappeared in a haze of cloudy cider...
