My first foray into the crepuscular world of 20-20 cricket came on Wednesday night at Bridford. As the sun shone and a Beatles tribute band blasted out their early classics from the local village hall the atmosphere was set for what one hoped would be a thrilling contest. However, having been put into bat, aside for some good hitting from David P, Mat C and Phil E the Erratics never really built up the necessary momentum to post a competitive enough score and ended their innings on 106.

The Bridford openers came to the crease meaning business and from the first over set about dismantling the Erratics total. With the band cranking up the volume for their second set, the runs came with increasing ease and to cut a short story even shorter by the end of the thirteenth over they had done enough without losing a wicket.

A beautiful evening and good sounds, but, in cricketing terms perhaps not the Erratics finest hour.
