Dog Days: July Match Reports

05 Aug 2021

It's been a right old mixed bag of a summer, both weather and results wise. We've still not had a winning or losing streak of more than 3 games, though our T20 form has finally improved a bit, breaking even in our last 8 games. You can read the latest dispatches here:

Ben Youngman tackles that age-old question - what's the best way to Cheriton Fitzpaine CC? - in his report on a dramatic run chase there.
No hat-tricks - or joy of any kind really - at Ashburton this year, as Rick Lindsay reports.
Kyle Wedgewood makes a fine reporting debut on a trip to the moor to play Spitchwick.
Al Thomas recounts another T20 defeat, at an unusally sunny South Brent.
The first Erratics century of the season - scored by a guest player - is retold in Matt Crawford's account of our match with tourists Isis.
One of our own was the hero in a victory at Broadclyst, where Ben Youngman took 7 for 9, as Ben Yarde-Buller's promising debut report tells.
Mark Hailwood reports on a game he was actually at this time - a last-ball classic at a baking hot Chagford.
Phil's report on a run-fest at Dartington is divine.
Martin Weiler revels in his own death-bowling exploits in a win at Newton Pop.
And Jonathan Kirby captures a special day at Lustleigh, where the Mystics retained the Chairman's Cup for another year.

So, plenty to digest there in the rain/bad light delays at Trent Bridge.

Cheers
Mark H
