Flaming June: Match Reports

09 Jul 2021

Ok, so it wasn't actually that hot, but at least we only lost one game to the weather in June (in contrast to six in May). It has been a suitably erratic season so far, with no run of wins or losses exceeding 3 games (though such a statistic is largely due to us winning most of our weekend games and losing almost all of our T20 fixtures). You can now read about this turbulent run of results in our latest batch of reports:

The month began with a return to Spreyton, which didn't go much better than our first visit, as Andrew reports.
Feniton was the next scene of our T20 troubles, as John Curtis recalls in what he claims is his first ever report.
We finally won our first short form game of the season at Ide, as detailed by Jon Bev.
Chulmleigh were swept aside for the second time this year, thanks to a record partnership and a 4-for for a rising star, as Al Thomas reports.
We were back in Chulmleigh just a few days later to kick off the North Devon Tour, where a degree of revenge was enacted, tells JK.
Our marquee fixture at Lynton and Lynmouth was, as ever, a great occasion, but we fell short of glory, as Martin Wright recalls.
But the tour ended on a high at Morebath, where reporter Jon Bev made his maiden Erratics 50 in two pairs of pants.

There are many more tales to be told (from Yarcombe, Clyst, Marldon, North Molton, Cheriton Fitzpaine, Tale Millers, Clyst Hydon) and hopefully these will be with us soon. In the meantime, enjoy your cricket in July...
